Getting a roof ready for treatment can be accomplished through manual scraping and brushing using our scrapers. Alternatively, one can opt for a pressure washer equipped with our twin turbo nozzles and flat surface cleaner.
The outcomes are remarkable, and with the appropriate equipment and techniques, it serves as a practical alternative to traditional scraping methods.

Hi Chris,
If you’re preparing a slate roof for painting, I’d recommend using Lightning Cleanze first to remove the biological growth and thoroughly rinse the roof afterwards. Once the roof is clean and fully dry, you can proceed with painting. The exact drying time will depend on weather conditions and the paint manufacturer’s recommendations, but typically you’d want to allow at least a few dry days before painting.
As for solar panels, Window Cleanze can be used on them. It’s suitable for glass surfaces and is commonly used to help improve cleaning performance and rinsing when used through a water-fed pole system.
If you can let us know whether the roof is natural slate or man-made slate, we can give more specific advice on the roof preparation.
Cheers,
Team Benz
