Do you need a power/pressure/jet washer to get started in softwashing?

Most of the time you'll find you won't need a power/pressure washer (sometimes called a jet washer) to do the initial soft washing. Soft washing is a technique that largely, although not completely, supersedes the need for a power/pressure washer.

Exceptions can be pre-cleaning wooden structures that are badly colonised by algae (wooden decking, wooden fences, wooden sheds, wooden cladding) and removing black lichen from concrete.

Benz Softwash cleaning products can do both jobs by themselves but a light power / pressure washer, used carefully at a low pressure setting and/or with a wide fan jet held back from the surface, can speed things up and is also useful for rinsing.

And for soft washing wood, depending on the type of wood, pre-cleaning the algae with a light pressure wash can produce a more pleasing final result that many customers like.

A pressure washer is useful when used with a rinsing nozzle for rapidly rinsing a surface following soft washing with Benz Lightning Cleanze.

Quick tip: Do not rinse Benz Bio Cleanze after treating a surface.

A pressure washer can also be useful for quickly hosing off patios and paths to remove loose organic material prior to soft washing with either Bio Cleanze or Lightning Cleanze.

Quick tip: Once you've got a customer's property clean, set them up with an ongoing maintenance programme.

At this point Bio Cleanze will be doing most of the work and pressure washing will have become largely redundant. You'll simply need to spray & go!
