Professional roof-scraping bundle combining the Benz double head scraper system with your choice of aluminium or carbon fibre pole.

Product overview

The Benz roof scraper and pole bundle provides a complete mechanical roof-preparation setup for removing moss, liverworts and debris from tiled and slate roofs.

The system allows contractors to work from ground level, scaffolding or a suitable access platform, reducing the need to work directly on the roof.

The double scraper head accepts interchangeable blades and brushes, allowing you to adapt the setup to the roof material and condition.

Bundle components

Double roof scraper head: Fit two tools at once
The double head holds two scraper blades or a combination of one blade and one brush, helping you remove moss and debris more efficiently.

Flat nylon scraper blade: Gentler scraping for delicate surfaces
The nylon blade provides a less aggressive option for natural slate, man-made slate and coated roof tiles where a stainless steel scraper could damage the surface.

Polypropylene brush: Loosen growth without using steel
The polypropylene brush helps loosen moss and debris from delicate roof coverings and areas where a stainless steel brush may prove too aggressive.

Stainless steel brush: Agitate stubborn growth
The stainless steel brush provides stronger agitation for suitable, durable roof surfaces where moss and debris remain trapped in joints and textured areas.

Stainless steel flat scraper blade: Remove heavy moss efficiently
The flat stainless steel blade removes larger areas of established moss from suitable concrete roof tiles.

Pole connection: Match the scraper to your chosen pole
The bundle includes the appropriate connection for your selected pole. Depending on the pole option, this will be an aluminium spigot or a plastic Euro-thread connector.

Tool kit: Assemble and adjust the scraper head
The tool kit includes a three-pronged Allen key with 4 mm, 5 mm and 6 mm ends, together with a spanner for assembly and adjustment.

Pole options

  • 35 ft Benz Zap-Max 35 carbon fibre pole: Full carbon pole engineered for maximum strength, rigidity and durability.
  • 30 ft Facelift Renegade aluminium pole: Strong and durable aluminium pole suited to occasional roof-scraping work and contractors who prioritise value.
  • 30 ft Facelift Phantom carbon fibre pole: Lightweight and rigid carbon fibre pole that provides easier control during extended roof-scraping work.

Suitable roof surfaces

  • Natural and man-made slate: Use the nylon scraper blade or polypropylene brush and work carefully.
  • Concrete roof tiles: Use the stainless steel scraper blade where the tile surface remains sound and suitable.
  • Coated concrete tiles: Begin with the nylon scraper blade and carry out a test scrape to make sure you do not damage the coating.
  • Clay tiles: Pre-wet the surface before using a stainless steel scraper. Work carefully and respect the relative fragility of the tiles.

Professional roof-scraping advice

  • Inspect the roof for pre-existing damage before beginning work.
  • Photograph any existing damage and inform your customer before scraping.
  • Carry out a suitability test in an inconspicuous area.
  • Choose the blade or brush according to the roof material and its condition.
  • Stop scraping if the process damages the tile surface or coating.

After removing the bulk of the moss and debris, apply a suitable softwash treatment to kill the remaining biological growth and provide longer-lasting results.
