Window Cleanze FAQ – Pure Water Additive for Professional Window Cleaning

Window Cleanze FAQ – Pure Water Additive for Professional Window Cleaning

If you’re using a water-fed pole (WFP) system and de-ionised (DI) water, you may be wondering whether a window cleaning additive is worth it.

Below are the most common trade questions about Window Cleanze and the detailed answers.

What is Window Cleanze?

Window Cleanze is a pure water window cleaning additive designed to enhance the performance of de-ionised (DI) water in water-fed pole systems.

It improves:

  • Glide on glass

  • Breakdown of bird mess and traffic film

  • Rinse behaviour

  • Sheeting on hydrophobic glass

It does this without compromising spot-free drying.

Does Window Cleanze affect TDS (Total Dissolved Solids)?

No.

When used at the recommended dilution rate (1–5ml per 100 litres of DI water), Window Cleanze does not meaningfully affect TDS readings.

Your water remains de-ionised and suitable for spot-free window cleaning.

This is critical because traditional detergents would raise TDS and cause spotting.

Should I add Window Cleanze before or after my DI resin?

Always add Window Cleanze after your DI resin vessel.

It should be dosed into your finished pure water tank not before filtration.

Adding it before DI would be incorrect and unnecessary.

Can Window Cleanze be used in warm water window cleaning systems?

Yes.

Window Cleanze is fully compatible with warm water window cleaning systems.

Warm water already improves:

  • Grease breakdown

  • Bird lime softening

  • General contamination release

When combined with Window Cleanze, cleaning performance can improve further, particularly on heavy first cleans or traffic film.

Can Window Cleanze be used for internal window cleaning?

Yes.

It can be used for:

  • Internal glass

  • Mirrors

  • Conservatory glazing

  • Smooth interior surfaces

Apply carefully and avoid overspray on sensitive finishes.

Does Window Cleanze make glass more hydrophilic?

In many cases, yes.

Some modern glass is hydrophobic, meaning water beads instead of sheeting. This can lead to uneven drying and higher water use.

Window Cleanze can improve sheeting behaviour on some hydrophobic glass types, allowing more even rinsing at lower flow rates.

Results depend on:

  • Glass type

  • Existing contamination

  • Dosage rate

Start at recommended dilution and increase gradually if needed.
After this, increase concentrations until you have satisfactory cleaning results. Always test small areas first.

What dilution rate should I use?

Recommended dosage:

1–5ml per 100 litres of DI water.

  • 1–3ml for regular maintenance cleaning

  • Up to 5ml for heavier first cleans

Correct dosing is important. Overdosing is unnecessary and does not improve performance.

How cost-effective is Window Cleanze?

A 500ml bottle treats:

  • Up to 50,000 litres at 1ml per 100L

  • Around 16,600 litres at 3ml per 100L

  • 10,000 litres at 5ml per 100L

For most professional window cleaners using 300–500 litres per day, one bottle can last weeks or even months.

The cost per 100 litres of treated water is extremely low — often offset by faster cleaning times and reduced re-cleans.

When should I use a window cleaning additive?

A window cleaning additive like Window Cleanze is particularly useful when:

  • Glass is hydrophobic

  • Traffic film is present

  • Bird lime is frequent

  • You are using lower flow rates

  • You want improved glide

  • You are running warm water systems

For light maintenance cleans, lower dosage rates are usually sufficient.

What Window Cleanze is not

It is not:

  • A foaming soap

  • A substitute for correct pure water setup

  • A TDS contaminant

  • A high-foam detergent

It is a performance enhancer for professional WFP systems.

So, in short…

  • It is a pure water window cleaning additive

  • It does not affect TDS

  • Add it after DI

  • It works in warm water systems

  • It can improve sheeting on hydrophobic glass

  • It is highly cost-effective

Used correctly, Window Cleanze improves efficiency without compromising pure water window cleaning principles.
