Some customers have wondered why we add IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) to Benz Bio Cleanze. So lets clear this up and clarify the situation once and for all ...
Why we use IPA in Benz Bio Cleanze
Isopropyl alcohol, as used in Bio Cleanze and Perma Cleanze, is known in the UK and Ireland as pharmaceutical “surgical spirit” and is used by doctors and nurses as a topical antiseptic for cleaning wounds to prevent infection.
Including 10-20% IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) gives Bio Cleanze several advantages over a basic biocide:
Does IPA damage the silicone in some wall renders?
Not at all. At recommended dilution rates, the very small quantity of IPA in Bio Cleanze and Perma Cleanze as applied to a customer's property has zero effect on the silicone in, for example, wall renders and tarmac.
Quick tip: Even pure undiluted IPA has no lasting effect on silicone.

Fun fact: In the US, Isopropyl Alcohol is called “rubbing alcohol”. Why? Because when it was first introduced back in the 1920s it was used as a massage lotion.
Then prohibition came along and it was named rubbing alcohol to differentiate it from drinking alcohol, which was illegal. Because IPA is undrinkable it was allowed to be legally sold. And the name has stuck ever since.
We sincerely wish you great success in your soft washing business.
Cheers,

It's a free resource for people wanting to learn about the soft washing industry, to expand an existing business, or build a new business.
Soft washing reduces, or even eliminates, the need to use high-pressure washing.
Instead, once the build up of algae, lichen, fungus and mould – the root causes of properties looking "dirty" – has been treated, the natural "self-cleansing" of sun, rain and wind removes the surface residue through time.
By educating the cleaning trade and public about soft washing we are helping develop an industry that offers sustainable treatments to clean and maintain exterior hard surfaces.
