How to remove rust stains from painted metal and wood

Benz Softwash Oxy Cleanze rust stain removal gel, rust killer, limescale remover

Ben did this job recently and we thought it would be useful to share the results of using Benz Oxy Cleanze to remove rust stains from two painted surfaces, one metal and the other wood.

Both jobs are small, and would not warrant a dedicated call out. But customers love these "little extras" – which make a big difference to the enjoyment of their home ((and to their appreciation of the contractor).

Ben's first job was to clean the rust stains from this downpipe, which was an eyesore (the black around the join is Hammerite, which the home owner will remove and repaint)

Then Ben treated a small area of woodwork that had begun leaking rust stains next to the front door of the property:

All Ben had to do was paint Oxy Cleanze onto the rust and rust stains, leave for a few minutes, and rinse off.

The heavy rust at the top of the downpipe, around the join, took a couple of treatments but the rest came straight off.

Result – yet another happy home owner! :)

Soft washing an artifical slate roof with Benz Bio Cleanze
Why pressure (jet, power) washing a roof is NOT a good idea

August 08, 2020

(Due to logistic problems associated with the government restrictions around Covid-19 this is a written, not video, Trade Tips post this week)
===========================

A customer asked us, if it would be a good idea to pressure (aka jet, power) wash a roof prior to treating it with Benz Bio Cleanze.

That's a reasonable question.

You could jet wash a roof and then treat with Bio Cleanze.

But why would you?
